Does the contraceptive pill turn you psycho? YES!

I know there are many millions of people out there on the contraceptive pill…who are perfectly fine. I know that the majority of people do not have any problems when they take the contraceptive pill. I am sadly not one of those people, it instead turned me into a PSYCHO… FOUR TIMES so it’s not through my will of trying over the past few years but it just ain’t the method for me. I became a MOANY MARY everytime!!!!

I thought that perhaps the doctor just kept giving me the wrong one, the ONE that didn’t agree with me. Well FOUR pills later and it TIME to nip that one in the bud before I get dumped by my boyfriend or disowned by best mates!

I wanted to highlight a few things that make me realise the contraceptive pill is not for me, you may be able to relate to these! These things all happened within two weeks of starting the pill. They never happened me before AND as I’m never ingesting THAT teeny tic tac DETONATOR again, they certainly won’t be happening again!!

Bursting into tears and bawling for probably about 20 minutes during menial tasks i.e changing the sheets on your bed

Waking up feeling like you’ve an internal rage, similar to a tiger that has not eaten in about 6 months (that’s me below!!)

Having wild mood swings like never before – You’ve become a MOANY MARY!

The Tiger Strikes Again Wild Animals

Feeling negative when there is no reason to feel negative i.e if you got told you were going on a date with Brad Pitt, you’d prob feel negative about it!

Possessed –  you feel like you’ve lost the run of your emotions, in fact you can’t even distinguish them!

Dazed – You feel like you’re not functioning at full capacity. A little bit like you’re in space, but you’re not, you are defo 1000% on earth!

Those are a few things which I have personally identified with the contraceptive pill. There are surely positive aspects to the pill, like the prospect of not having a kid when you don’t want one… but BE AWARE, there are negative ones too!

Make love not war, don’t be a MOANY MARY, be a HAPPY MARY!

  1. The contraceptive pill certainly doesnt agree with everyone. But thats why its good news that there are several other types of contraception to chose from. Perhaps using a progesterone-only pill(mini-pill) may suit you better or a copper coil or even condoms used ‘correctly and consistently.’ Good luck!

  2. Amen to That Jenny! My gf nearly has heart attacks each time she tries a new one. High blood pressure, being nervous and anxious… Kinda scary.
No magic alternative, pill remains theoretically the most convenient but well…
Keep on writing the good vibes and Hello from Luxembourg

    1. Thanks for reading it!! I swear, I’ve tried 4! Hello from London too! I go to Luxembourg to visit my bf every few weeks! I’ll let you know if I find a magical alternative!! 😉
